The exhibition “Digi Tec 2005” that opened in the Innovative-Experimental Art Center on 30 September was dedicated to the information and telecommunication technologies and their practical use. As the organizers of the exhibition mentioned, it aims to create a business environment between the companies of information and telecommunication technologies and business consumers. Artur Baghdasaryan, Speaker of NA, opened the exhibition. The Speaker of the Parliament mentioned in his welcoming speech that today there are good opportunities for developing information technologies. “The development of information technologies is of exclusive significance for our nation, for our country on the way to competitive Armenia,” said Artur Baghdasaryan. The NA Speaker considered important the role of such events for the development of the system and expressed his conviction that after a couple of years there will be more than hundred organizations willing to participate.He informed that last year 18 organizations participated in the exhibition, this year there were there were already 36 of them.

The exhibition included several sections. New developments of computers, computer parts, enlargements, security systems and services were presented in the section of computer equipments and systems. The innovations of information technologies will be widely applied in business, electronic management and telecommunications spheres. The exhibition presented the program “ISMA” of automatic Armenian-English translations developed by Armenian specialists. The school # 198 developed a program, which enables the pupils present their home works to their teachers on line. There are interesting innovations in computer graphics, multimedia. Packages of complex programs concerning scientific research tasks, financial and banking services, accounting systems have been developed.

As Artur Baghdasaryan mentioned, the exhibition is impressive: there is real progress and an opportunity to multiply that progress.
